A General Guide to CASIO Watch Battery replacement:

(This process will differ depending upon your exact CASIO model. 

Please note that I take no responsibility for any damage that following this general guide may cause you or your watch!)

Step 1

Remove the back cover. Remove the back cover by removing the four retaining screws with the screwdriver. Put the screws somewhere safe as they are difficult to find on the floor!

Step 2

I prefer NOT to remove the gasket but if you do so place it somewhere safe along with the screws

Step 3

Remove the internal battery cover (If present)

Step 4

Remove the battery protective sticker (If present) and safely retain with the screws

Step 5

BEFORE removing the battery please take note of the polarity of the old battery.

In most (but not all) cases the battery is +ve side up

Unhooking the battery retaining clip can be a tricky and a somewhat delicate process. I prefer to use a pin to ease the clip loose of its retaining hook deep within the mechanism.

(You may see a small groove designed to direct the pin and release the clip)

Step 6

With the retaining click unhooked the old battery will just pop out. If not then use the pin to ease the battery from the mechanism.

Step 7

Make sure not to short the new battery. Use plastic tweezers to place the new battery back into the watch mechanism. 

Gently press the battery retaining clip back into place until the clip secures back under the hook previously released at step 5 above. 

Again this can be a delicate operation and you may need to use a very fine edge to guide the clip back over the hook deep in the mechanism.

Step 8

Set the correct time and date by following the manufactures instructions for you specific CASIO.
