Reluctant sale of our Sailfish 18 Trailer Sailor because we have not used it for two years mainly due to illness, so will have to go. Saying that we have had some great days and weekends sailing in the Lakes. The sailfish is one of the best for trailer sailing ever made, easy to launch and and recover, can be rigged in twenty minutes, roomy cabin . The boat is in good condition considering she was built in the early seventies. We have done some restoration work including replacing the old windows with polycarbonate sea windows which are water tight and strong enough to sit on, painting inside the cabin and the hull, restoring the original non-braked trailer including new wheels and tyres. New winch and rollers, the an addition of docking bars and a 15 foot launching bar.
The all important keel modification has been done to prevent losing it. The keel can be raised and lowed with a winding handle or with my simple modification using a cordless drill, which is much faster! The sails are in serviceable condition and are the original sail plan with roller reefing which have been stored under the heaver boat cover and the main sail in the dry cabin.
Included in the sail is a 5 horsepower Seagull Silver century plus with clutch outboard and a 24volt electric motor with two 85 amp hour leisure batteries, Nasa target 2 depth finder, anchor with long chain, table that sits on top of keel box, 2 ring gas cooker, lighting board with extension and chemical loo. So is ready to drive away and to sail.
The jobs that need doing a mostly cosmetic and include another coat of paint on the hull and maybe a new rubbing strip.
