This telescope was bought by myself in the late 1990s. DTG were an optical company in Ireland and specialised in making affordable telescopes. They achieved this by making the body of the telescope from resin tube and the Dobsonian mount from plywood. The components of the telescope that really mattered, ie the mirror and optics, were of the same high standard as the more expensive telescopes. This telescope has excellent optical quality and here is a list of a handful of celestial objects that I have viewed (and you can easily view) with this telescope:
• Moon and detailed craters
• All the planets in our solar system excluding Pluto. You may see Pluto if you are determined.
• Moons of Jupiter and Saturn.
• Saturns rings
• Clouds of Jupiter
• Jupiters red spot
• Orion Nebula
• Andromeda Galaxy
• Various other comets and interesting celestial objects.
The mirrors in this telescope have been recently cleaned and the alignment has been calibrated.
Two 1.25" eyepieces are also included. A 25mm Celestron wide angle eyepiece and a 9mm telephoto eyepiece.
This telescope is obviously very large so postage is simply not an option. Buyer must collect.
