Complete with an electric 240V blower for rapid inflation/deflation.

When not in use tracks are best stored rolled (we do not recommend that they are folded). A 3m track will form a 30cm roll approximately 2.2m long, weighing just under 30Kg.

Note that this is a large hand made product, that is not mass produced and so does not have retail packaging. Hot air welding drop stitch fabric (two layers joined by 20cm long fibres) is difficult and it is quite normal for seams and joins (which are all good) to be less neat than you might expect on a mass produced item. All DSF air tracks are similar in this regard.

Please note that I believe Ebay will require us to confirm (by sending an Ebay invoice) the delivery cost, prior to you being able to pay by Paypal.聽

User & Safety Instructions

20cm Air Track

IMPORTANT READ BEFORE USE!

1) Introduction

This manual describes how to use your new air track.

Please make sure to read through these instructions carefully before using your air track. Should anything be unclear, do not hesitate to contact us.

We hope you enjoy your new equipment!

2) Safety Instructions

Air tracks are designed as training equipment for gymnastics, cheerleading and tumbling...THEY ARE NOT TOYS!

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 USE AIR TRACKS ONLY FOR THEIR INTENDED PURPOSE.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Any gymnastic activity involving motion, rotation or height can result in serious injury including paralysis, or death. All users of this equipment assume the risk of serious injury. Air tracks cannot and do not eliminate hazards.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 An air track must only be installed/set up by a qualified instructor.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Use the equipment only under the supervision of a qualified instructor, who is responsible for the proper and safe use of the air track.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Follow a progressive learning pattern. Get fully familiar with the characteristics of your new air track, using simple basic movements, before attempting any gymnastic skills.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Do not wear shoes while on an air track for they may damage the surface.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Air tracks are heavier than one might imagine. Ensure that there are enough able persons to safely move a track without a risk of injury. A track weighs approximately 10Kg for every metre length (so a 3m track weighs around 30Kg).

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Never place an air track near overhead obstructions, such as trees or power lines, nor place the equipment on a slope greater than 5%.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Do not bring any sharp items on or close to the air track.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Do not jump or land closer than 30 cm to the edge. If two tracks are joined, always use the triangular wedge beneath the joining strip and do not jump or land closer than 30cm to the join. Landing on the join or edge, could cause injury (it has slightly different bounce characteristics to the track) and it could damage the glue joint between the Velcro and track.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Regularly inspect the positions of your air track(s) and mats, as equipment can move during use. Make that the joining strip is flush, well fixed and does not create a trip hazard.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ensure that the air track has the correct air pressure to avoid injury. The correct air pressure must be determined by a qualified instructor prior to every use....this will depend upon the users weight and skill level.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Do not use the air track without positioning landing mats on both ends. For safety reasons, also put landing mats on the sides.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 The area in which the air track is placed must be clean, dry, flat and free of obstacles.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Always set up the air track in the same area where you will be using it. When changing the location, do not drag the air track over the surface but carry it by the handles.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Do not use the air track in humid areas, electrocution may occur.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Do not store a fully inflated air track in a location that can get hot, such as a conservatory or in the sun. This can cause an over pressure situation and damage the track.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Do not use the air track in the rain. While inflating the equipment, electrocution may occur and also the surface will be slippery which can cause injuries.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 When setting up the air track outdoors, use a thick groundsheet to avoid damage. Never use in windy conditions, it could blow away causing damage or injury.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Never pack, store or transport the air track when it is wet.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 The air track is cleaned with water and soft soap. Do not use industrial cleaning products.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Never use a damaged air track.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Never leave an air track unattended.... untrained people or children could gain access resulting in injury.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Be aware that air tracks are not designed as landing or crash mats.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Do not allow more than one person at a time to use an air track.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Note that when inflated an air track is too wide to fit through a doorway without damage (there are sharp catches and locks on doors).

3) Use Instructions

Air tracks are designed as training equipment for gymnastics, cheerleading and tumbling...THEY ARE NOT TOYS!

Due to their bounciness they are ideal for training skills that require airtime. However, this bounciness also renders the air track un-useful as a landing or crash mat. Air tracks are not a replacement for landing mats, crash mats or foam pits.

Sportsmen of any skill level, age, weight and size can use the air track.

The bounciness of the air track depends on how much pressure you put in it. The recommended air pressure level for the 20cm thick air track is 0.5 - 1.5 PSI. The optimal pressure greatly depends on the skill level and weight of the user, as well as the type of sports and preferred effect. The correct air pressure must be determined by a qualified instructor prior to every use. We can supply an optional pressure gauge which will help with setting the pressure up to the same as a previous session, although it will not be able to determine the optimal pressure for the user...THIS MUST BE DONE BY AN INSTRUCTOR. Injury can occur if an air track is too hard or too soft.

Note: It is impossible to damage the air track with the blowers we supply, which have a maximum pressure of 2.8PSI (although this is too hard for use). To prevent damaging the air track, never use a blower other than the one we supply with your equipment.

4) Set-up

1.聽聽聽 Please make sure you have read the safety instructions before proceeding to set-up your air track.

2.聽聽聽 Always, let the air track acclimatise to room temperature (this can take a few hours) before unrolling or inflating. At temperatures below 10 degrees Centigrade the PVC fabric of the air track is hard and not very pliable. Cracking can occur if folded or inflated without acclimatisation.聽 Do not use the air track at below 10 degrees Centigrade.

3.聽聽聽 Pick the right location for the air track. To prevent damage, make sure there is no debris, stones or other sharp objects in the area. If you鈥檙e using the air track outside, always use a ground cover to prevent damage. Never use in windy conditions, it could blow away causing damage or injury.

4.聽聽聽 Move the air track to the desired location and unroll.聽聽

5.聽聽聽 Make sure the small grey valves are closed (pin out). The valve has two positions, open and closed. The valve can be set to either position, by pushing the central pin in and rotating a quarter of a turn. You may need to practice a little to get used to the valve operation. The blower adaptor when connected automatically opens the valve, even if it is closed. Connect the blower adapter to the grey valve by aligning the bayonet and twisting it in.

6.聽聽聽 Turn on the blower and wait for the air track to reach the desired pressure.....THIS MUST BE DETERMINED BY AN INSTRUCTOR.

7.聽聽聽 Turn off and disconnect the blower.

8.聽聽聽 A manometer/pressure gauge can help (particularly, if you have previously worked out what pressure works best for you). It is best to inflate the track slightly more than the desired pressure, then repeatedly attach the gauge and release a little air until you reach the desired pressure.

5) Packing

1. Open the valve to start the deflation. The blower can be used to deflate the track more rapidly and remove all of the air. Simply attach the blower鈥檚 tube聽 to the deflation side of the blower.

2. Roll up the air track towards the valve so that it remains unblocked for as long as possible. DO NOT FOLD the air track.

3. IMPORTANT: After rolling up the air track make sure to close all valves and replace the caps!

6) Frequently Asked Questions

Q My air track seems to be leaking?

A Make sure that all valves are closed properly. The pins inside of the grey valves are often left open (pin in) when the cap is placed on the valve, which means the valve will still be leaking air. Always make sure the valve is closed (pin out) before placing the cap on it.

Occasionally, the fibres inside the track can get tangled in the valve (usually after the pump has been used to deflate the track) causing air leakage. Unscrew the valve (anti-clockwise) using the special spanner provided with the pump (taking care not to loose the female half of the valve inside the track) and cut any tangled threads using a pair of scissors (take care not to cut the PVC track fabric). Screw the valve together again.

Still leaking? Please note that air tracks are not 100% airtight. It is normal for an air track to lose some pressure over time and you may need to refill them a few times a day.

Q I can鈥檛 roll the air track up very neatly?

A When deflating and rolling up your air track, we recommend using the blower to get the last bits of air out of the equipment. Connect the blower鈥檚 adapter to the input side of the blower and deflate until the air track is flat.

Q How long does it take to inflate an air track?

A 20cm thick air track takes approximately 1 minute per metre length to inflate from flat. A quick top up from previous use may only take a few seconds.

Q Is there a chance of damaging an air track by over pressurizing it?

A No, the pressure needed to actually damage an air track cannot be reached with the blowers we supply (their maximum pressure is 2.8PSI. Never use a pump that will inflate to a higher pressure as this action will invalidate your warranty and damage the track (it is also likely to injure the user as the track will be too hard).

Q 24 Hours after inflation the air track is not hard enough anymore, do I need to repair this?

A Air tracks are not designed to maintain their pressure for more than a few hours. Adding a little air every couple of hours is not unusual. When you have doubts, please contact us for a professional opinion.

Q What is the lifespan of the air track?

A Obviously this will depend on how the track is used and in what frequency. We offer a 12 month warranty for non-commercial use on all new first grade tracks (30 days on second grade tracks). In the event of a claim, the customer must pay transport costs in both directions and we will repair the item without charge within 30 days of receipt. Always contact us for a returns number before returning any items. The warranty covers manufacturing defects, but does not cover punctures from sharp objects, cracks from tightly folding and unfolding at low temperatures, other miss-use, or failure to follow these instructions.

Q When our air track is leaking, how can you help us?

A A puncture in the surface or damage to a seam could cause your air track to leak. You can send the equipment back to us for repair, or we can supply you with a repair kit.

Q What is the difference between this air track and the old style continuously inflated track?

A This new generation air track is very airtight and the pressure can be chosen to suit the user. You do not need a big, expensive, continuously running blower that makes a lot of聽 noise and ruins your training, also the air track is a better gymnastic surface, because it鈥檚 flatter.
